Dome Cameras
Dome Cameras are named for their dome like shape and are commonly used in camera systems inside homes, casinos, retail stores, and restaurants. Dome Cameras are visually more fashionable and blend into their surroundings very well and are usually the diameter of a CD or DVD and the height of a coffee mug.
Due to the dome cameras dome shape, it is very difficult for someone to see which direction the lens is actually aiming and this alone can be a deterrent for malicious activities. Although Dome Cameras are mostly used indoors in areas where there is a high chance of camera vandalism, i.e lassoing a bullet camera off its mount location, dome cameras resist this type of vandalism but are more susceptible to thrown rock damage due to their large glassed area. Similar to other styles of CCTV camera Dome Cameras come in a range of types and styles depending on the application with a variety of lenses depending on manufacturer and camera model.
